Tycroes Primary School, Carmarthen
The sloping roofs of the classroom blocks at Tycroes primary school proved ideal for the installation of solar PV panels. The orientation of the buildings, combined with the angle of the roof, make for a highly efficient installation.
The school is one of a number that benefit from the Government’s Feed in Tariff. The installation was supported by an allocation of £300,000 from Carmarthenshire County Council to support schools with the installation of solar PV, in the knowledge that the payback will be substantially reduced running costs into the future.
